WordPress Parent (Automattic) Buys Ireland-based PollDaddy:
Authored by Mark Hefflinger on October 16, 2008 - 7:59am Sligo, Ireland - Automattic, the developer of the WordPress blogging platform, has acquired Ireland-based Web polling service PollDaddy.
Financial terms of the transaction were not disclosed.
PollDaddy — which is not related to domain registration and Web hosting service GoDaddy — has been used to create around 1 million polls, which have garnered 195 million votes to date.
The company’s polling service will be more tightly integrated with the WordPress platform, while also continuing to support MySpace, Ning, Blogger, Typepad and other services.
